Give A Day. Get A Day!

Thanks, Disney! For years I have wanted to get my family involved in community service. I never knew what was a good fit for us, though. I have lots of things I would like to do, but dragging 4 kids with me makes most of those things a bit difficult. I've also been dying to go to Disney. We haven't been in a few years because we just haven't had the money. It's quite expensive with 2 adults and 4 kids. Back in the day, when we had $$$$, we went ALL the time. Corbin's first year of life we went and stayed many weekends down there without batting an eye! Well, these days I can't even imagine paying for the tickets and food for the day. I know, I know. What does volunteering and Disney have to do with each other? Well, since you asked I will tell you. Give A Day. Get A Day! This is a great program by Disney Parks. It is awesome! You can click on the link and get all of the information. It's quite simple really! It's perfect for families, especially those people like myself who are new to volunteering and want to get their whole families involved. You can register anyone over the age of 6. Every person can then search through a zip code based data bank full of opporitunities. They list locations, dates, times and even the ages that can participate! I am so excited! Everyone that finishes the volunteer opporitunity that they sign up for will recieve one FREE one day ticket to Disney World. Check it out and get your kids involved!

One minute it's spotless and the next....

Between the 6 of us we can make a MESS - yes, with capitol letters - in a matter of seconds! Does your house ever get like this? I feel like I'm a slave to the "stuff". It creeps out of nowhere, especially when the kids are home! Oh well, I'll clean it up and start the cycle all over again!

Thank the good Lord above that my first 3 were boys! I cannot imagine having done this 3 other times before. She is such a girl with a BIG passion for wiptick!! Who could blame her?

Boy do we love the trampoline!!! It is great entertainment! I think they jump everyday until dark! Emerson loves it soooo much! She's so funny!

Baylor is our stunt man, if you can't tell. No fear!! I wish I were a kid again. What fun that would be!

So Proud

I am so proud of Landon! He recieved Honorable Mention on his Science Fair Project! I'm not gonna lie, these projects are for the birds! Last year, as a third grader, he was expected to do one of these and he had no clue what a science fair project was. Well, this year we took it in stride and did not stress over it. He wanted to do his project related to football somehow. Well, we started researching some ideas and decided to test reaction time! He named his project "Act Fast". These projects, for those of you that haven't had the pleasure of doing one with a 10 year old, are so far beyond their years. Landon's not a dumb kid, but he ain't brillant either. Needless to say, I did have a hand in the project. Last year, we recieved a "B" and I was so mad!! But this year, we did all right, if I don't say so myself!! He was beaming! He was bummed though when he realized that there were several other Honorable Mention ribbons handed out. But, maybe this will make him want to try even harder next year!

There's so much more, ya know, 'cause I've been MIA!! I've decide that I would rather read other BLOGS than write my own! HA!!

We've been doing the usual school stuff ~ with lots of homework and oh, a Science Fair Project!!! Thankk the Lord that that is behind us! We've also put down wood floors in the boys bedrooms. That has been a chore, but thanks to my Handy-Dandy neighbor, Gary, and my husband they are finished!! And it looks so good! I will never own carpet again. Only a cute rug where needed!

My main man as been busy with our new Pop Warner Football and Cheer League (Oceanway Sports Assoc.). We are all so excited ~ it is really happening. Oceanway has never had it's own league. We've got a lot to do and a lot of money to raise, but it will all be worth it come August!!

I hope everyone in Blogland (my favorite place) is doing well!!

Garage Sales, And our first Mom and Tots Gymnastics Class! Baylor had a couple of friends over for a good ole' game of "Redneck Football" in the backyard! The kids had a blast. I tried my best at surprising Baylor with a homemade cake just for him. It pretty much back fired...Oh, I forgot he doesn't like chocolate icing! I should get an award for that one!

We are all thrilled to finally wrap up our football season. We lost our Bowl game, but we had a decent season 5-3. Not too shabby!

I've been sewing some fun headbands that I'm hoping to list on Etsy soon. I'll keep you posted on that! I want to also list some cute pants and dresses, too.

The garage sale was ok. I thought it was going to be Friday and Saturday, but it ended up only being on Sat. which was a crazy day for us (football and party)! But, I did manage to throw some things out - we made about $140. Oh well. Gotta get rid of the old to make way for the new. With 3 birthdays and Christmas between November and December it gets a little crowded around here!

My cousin Erica invited Emerson and I to join a Mom and Tots Gymnastics Class with them on Tuesday mornings. Today was our 2nd Tuesday and Emerson just loves it! This is her first little class and so perfect for her! Thanks Erica!!!
