This and That

We've been quite busy around here with Birthday Clebrations,
Bowl Games,
Sewing Projects,
Garage Sales, And our first Mom and Tots Gymnastics Class! Baylor had a couple of friends over for a good ole' game of "Redneck Football" in the backyard! The kids had a blast. I tried my best at surprising Baylor with a homemade cake just for him. It pretty much back fired...Oh, I forgot he doesn't like chocolate icing! I should get an award for that one!
We are all thrilled to finally wrap up our football season. We lost our Bowl game, but we had a decent season 5-3. Not too shabby!
I've been sewing some fun headbands that I'm hoping to list on Etsy soon. I'll keep you posted on that! I want to also list some cute pants and dresses, too.
The garage sale was ok. I thought it was going to be Friday and Saturday, but it ended up only being on Sat. which was a crazy day for us (football and party)! But, I did manage to throw some things out - we made about $140. Oh well. Gotta get rid of the old to make way for the new. With 3 birthdays and Christmas between November and December it gets a little crowded around here!
My cousin Erica invited Emerson and I to join a Mom and Tots Gymnastics Class with them on Tuesday mornings. Today was our 2nd Tuesday and Emerson just loves it! This is her first little class and so perfect for her! Thanks Erica!!!
Hope everyone is well! I still need to take some pictures of the pants I've made for Emerson...they are too cute and easy to sew! Take care!

At Last, At Last....

Yeah! I finally got a camera.
Just in time for Halloween, too!
This week was filled with fun activities at school and around the neighborhood!
I love this time of year...even if it's 85 degrees!
It would be much better if it were 70 degrees, but oh well, that's Florida!
This is the crew on the hayride.
Corbin is a Creepy Ghost, Emerson is a China Doll, Landon is Hulk Hogan and Baylor is Tim Tebow!
We got a late start because we had to watch the Florida vs. Georgia game 'til the last second! GO GATORS!!! Here are the kids picking out a pumpkin I just loved these pumpkins, but the kids wanted a good ole fashioned solid orange one! Here's Toby and his little China Doll! By the way, this is an outfit that I wore when I was little! Today is Baylor's birthday! He is 8 today! His very special grandma, Tickle, as the kids call her, took him out shopping and to lunch to celebrate! How sweet is that? Oh, and she made him cupcakes! Happy Birthday, Baylor!! Hope your day is great!

So, I have tried 3 different times to get pictures from shutterfly onto my blog.
I can't seem to get it to work.
Must be "operator Error"!
So, instead of my posting the pics check out Shannon's page here!

Our trip was great!
Only 7 hours in the car...it was a great car ride with my hubby.
I love being with my family. They are the best.
Oh, and that sweet baby Collier...I love him sooooo!
The weather was amazing.
They prayed for great weather and we got it!

Last week was a good week.
Getting back into the swing of things a gain.
Crazy how much you miss your kids when you're away from them!

This week has been full of sickness.
Landon got sick Tues. and Baylor is now sick. YUCK!

I have been doing lots of sewing!
I cannot wait to show you these cute ruffled pants I made for Emerson.
I'll be back soon!

Ready, Set, Go!

I am so excited about this weekend! After the boys' football game, Toby and I are heading to Birmingham, AL. Incase yall don't know, that's where my dear Cuz lives! We haven't been to ole B'ham in quite awhile. This trip is a very special occassion. It's Collier's Baptism Day Sunday! And, I am honored to say that I am Collier's Godmother!!! Shannon is the Godmother of three of my children and I am so excited to finally repay her by being Collier's Godmother. By the way, that baby has the cutest dimples {just like his mamma}! Toby and I haven't been away without all the kids in some time and we are looking forward to the 8 hour car ride without any interuptions!! I may make him turn his phone off. Not really, but it wouldn't be a bad idea. I have to admit, leaving the kids behind is a big feat. There is sooooo much to think about. I am so glad that my wonderful mom and dad {Tickle and Pa} will be watching the kids the majority of the time and our sweet friend across the street will have the older 2 Saturday night. I know it's a short trip, but there is so much to pack. I feel for Tickle come Monday morning getting three kids dressed and out the door! If anyone can do it ~ it's Tickle! SUPER Tickle as I should call her! On another note, I've got to give my little peeps some praise! My three boys got their progress reports today and they are all doing so well. I am a super proud mamma! God has given me such wonderful kids. God is GOOD all the time!!! A family that I don't know reminded me of that. This family is such an inspiration and a true test to God's unwaving love. Please check their blog out and say a quick prayer for them. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mackmichael Hope to have lots of sweet pictures when we return!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do!!

Emerson is so funny! She can't decide if it's more fun to take her shirt off and run around like the boys or to put her bracelet, shoes and make-up on! At this moment she decided putting on mommies mascara was WAY more fun!
It was so funny because I could not find her. I was getting dressed and doing my hair. I walked into my closet to get my shoes and there she was sitting in my closet putting mascara on her eyes! I laughed so hard and then ran out the door to get Toby to snap this pic. (Yeah, I still don't have a camera!) Everytime she sees this picture she smiles and cheers, "Eyes! Eyes!"
She is so proud of herself!
By the way...this is twice in one week that I've updated! YIPPEE!!!

WOW! 2 months later and I decided to up-date my blog. I can't help it. I'm such a SLACKER! On most days I just can't find the words; although, I love reading everyone else's creative and moving words. Maybe that's the problem - I'm trying to be something I'm not. Believe it or not, in college my favorite class was my writing class. Go figure. I guess these days I'm feeling a little worn down. Kinda like my brain is fried or is it there's always a kid tugging at me. Probably both! So here's a little run down of the things we've been up to lately ~ OK, the last 2 months:
  • Enjoyed the Lake with my cousin and her family
  • August 1 was the start of Pop Warner Football practices (5 nights a week)
  • Swam at the community pool
  • Celebrated my birthday
  • FORGOT our 12th Wedding Anniversary
  • School started for the kids on August 24th ~ my baby boy, Corbin, started Kindergarten
  • Since Aug. 22nd our Saturdays are filled with Pop Warner Football games
  • Oh and we cannot leave out HOMEWORK started

I think that covers the highlights! In between all of that I did manage to squeeze in some projects ~ stuff I love to do ~ around the house:

  • sewed some pillows, dresses for Emmie, and some medical hats
  • ripped up Landon's dirty carpet
  • painted some tired furniture
  • made a LARGE chalk board in the laundry room

Needless to say, we've been busy with what we call LIFE!!! On top of all that, I broke my digital camera. So, hopefully soon I can update with some pics! And from now on I will do my best to update weekly!!!

Ahhh! Summer at Last!

What a crazy week it's been. Lots of school parties. Lots of sewing projects. Lots of anxious kids waiting for school to end. NOW it is officially...SUMMER! We started today off with a bang. The kids had a Lemonade Stand out at the front of the neighborhood pool. The neighborhood was full of people because we had a community garage sale. The kids had sooo much fun. They made $60. They couldn't believe it. I couldn't either. Baylor asked, "Can we do this every weekend?" I replied, "NO! I can't juice 60 lemons again!" Next, I want to go pick blueberries. We do this every year. Even though my kids eat more than they pick! It is always fun and yummy! Maybe we could make some yummy stuff and have a Blueberry Bake Sale. We'll see.

What a Weekend

It was a jam packed weekend! Corbin had his last T-Ball game Saturday. He loves playing. His coach calls him "Smiley"! After his game they did a small team party with cupcakes. Corbin was so excited to get his 2nd trophey ever!!! Later that afternoon we went here! How beautiful is this (below)?? This house is amazing. It is straight out of a magazine. You would think you were standing in an HGTV house. I wish it were mine, but it's not, it's my friend Stefanie's - darn!

We ALL discovered our new favorite chip! These are sooo good. You've got to try them!

This is what I made - Shrimp Burgers with Sweet and Tangy Tarter Sauce! Delicious! If I don't say so myself.

Stef made this. Also Delicious! Hicama Slaw! Yum, Yum! We ate like champs!

Stef's husband, Chad, did this! A man and his chainsaw - too funny!

It was worth it! We had a great fire with yummy s'mores!

The guys threw the kids around in the pool all afternoon. This is Lucy flying in the air!

It was a great day!

Life's a Beach!

This is why living in Florida is great. Life can't get much better than a beautiful day spent with family and friends at the beach!
Landon and Corbin with the Shultz kids - Landrey, Lucy and Turner
Hope your days are sunny!

Never Say Never

Have yall ever said, "oh, I would NEVER"??? Yeah, I am guilty of that! I will vow to NEVER do something and then sure enough, I'll change my mind. We'll that was the case with the Minivan. I have been a loyal SUV driving since I can remember. Always saying that I would NEVER own a minivan...well, I am now a PROUD owner of a minivan!!! And yes, I did say PROUD! Look. I loved my Yukon XL, but times are different now. It's time downsize (our monthly payment that is). Believe it or not we are all really liking "The Mini" as we call her. We are all becoming quite found of her. Landon was a little worried about what "The Mini" was going to do for his reputation. He was shocked to learn that is WAY cooler than he thought. We've had her for about 2 weeks now and we feel like she is part of the family now! We think she's a keeper! On to other things more important than The Mini". Landon tried out of the schools News Crew about a week ago. He was really excited about it. There were only 13 positions available and more than 35 kids tried out for it. Iwas a tad bit worried that he wasn't going to make it. We talked about the odds and he said he'd be OK if he didn't make. Well, Monday morning they announced the new members of the crew and he made it!!! He was sooooo excited! It is quite a big responsibility. He has to get to school about 45 minutes early and he will miss about 10-15 mins. of class time. He was so hyped last night because this morning was his first day on the job. He set his alarm clock and got ready so super fast - I was very impressed! Normally, for those that don't know us well - we are NEVER on time! We seem to always be a step behind. I think this will be really good for Landon. He is taking this very seriously. This News Crew thing is right up his ally. He is always directing shows and plays and X-Games in the cul-de-sac. His teacher told me that she heard he did really well; he took his time and was very charasmatic in his audition! The rest of the school year will be practice for the new kids, but next year will be the real deal. I'm a proud moma!

Welcome!

I just want everyone to know my Cuz gave birth to her first precious baby yesterday, April 30th, in the wee early hours. He is beautiful...I think he looks like his daddy! I cannot wait to meet him. I hate they live in B'ham. Go here to see sweet Collier Nash!

This week has been super busycrazy!! I've been here and here with the boys on school fieldtrips plus Emmie's been to swim lessons everyday...let's just say I'm pooped! The other day Emmie came around the corner sporting her thumb and the changing pad. She dragged that thing around with her for a good while. It was so funny!

Swimming Lessons!

Last week Emmie started this! She has been doing very well. The second day she was not very happy, but by Friday she was totally ok with it and actually smiling. I took some video of her, but I can't seem to get it to download. I'll keep trying. This program is so AMAZING! All of the boys have been through the program - Rhonda has actually taught them all. We have NEVER bought a pair of floaties! Since we live in Florida with lots of water, pools and ponds it was a no brainer! It is about the only thing we can hang our hat on as parents! We do a lot wrong, but this was something we've done right ( 4 times now)! It's hard work, but well worth it!

Sorry I am just NOW posting pics of Easter. We have been so busy around here; keeping up with kids, doing science projects, cleaning house, T-ball games, looking for minivans... Oh the list goes on! Well here's some pics you'll enjoy! Landon and his best bud, Brandon, decided to cut their "wigs"! They shook hands to make sure neither would back out. Let's just say that Landon is loving his new short do!
This is one of the groups of kids from Toby's moms side of the family. There is always a huge posie of kids. Look at 'em go!!
Emmie loved looking for the eggs!
Yeah and here is our easter pic! This is the best of 5. Corbin wanted NO part of having his picture taken!
Hope everyone is well! Enjoy your day!

Eggs and X-Games

Good Friday was a really Good Friday! For years, me and the kids would go over to my Gran's house and color Easter eggs. The kids always looked forward to this tradition. The loved GG (as they called her)! She would have everything ready and set up for us. We would pick up lunch and enjoy a few hours together. In memory of Great Gran, my Dad, brother, his wife and kids all came over and we colored Easter eggs together. It was fun. I was a little out of sorts...GG always did everything. I even had to call my mom-in-la (Tickle) to find out how to boil the eggs!
The kids had a blast! They love being together.
This is the egg Landon made for GG!
Emmie thought it was quite fun, too!
Later in the afternoon the kids and neighborhood kids put on THE X-Games! It started at 5pm sharp!! We had autograph books, fireworks, cookies and kool-aide and lots of TRICKS!
This is Brandon doing his BIG trick!
Here they are...what a group!

Spring Has Sprung

How can you not give Praise to God! Look around at All of life's wonderful Blessing!
Corbin brought this little guy home yesterday. He said he needs water and a hair cut!
Corbin had his Easter Party at school. He filled his basket to the brim! The weather has been beautiful - minus a few cold snaps here and there! We had a great day at the beach last weekend.

Praise be to GOD!
